SDH launches Coping Guide to Violence Against Elderly
Violence against elderly people in its various manifestations, is one of the biggest obstacles to the full realization of a democratic state: allow equal rights.
The June 15 was chosen as the World Day of Violence Awareness against the Elderly.The date was established in 2006 by the United Nations (UN) and the International Network for the Prevention of Violence the Elderly. The goal of date is to create a global awareness, social and political existence of violence against the elder, and simultaneously disseminate the idea of not accepting it as normal.
Alluding to date, the Secretariat for Human Rights (SDH / PR) launched in the city of Cariacica, Espírito Santo, the Combat Manual on Violence Against Elderly. The event was held by the Department of Social Assistance and Human Rights of the state and aims to strengthen efforts to combat violence.
The publication brings the Brazilian socio-demographic context, situations of violence against elderly and action strategies and violence prevention. The Dial 100, utility service SDH / PR, received over 70,000 complaints of human rights violations against older people 2011-2013
