Home-Scholl São Francisco – Project: “Recovering the autonomy of the older person” (2011 – 2012)

Home-School São Francisco

Coordinator: Renata Cereda Cordeiro and Maria Inês da Silva

Place: São Paulo – Vila Mariana

The aim of this project was to expand the provision of comprehensive gerontological care to older persons with impairments (permanent or temporary), or with minor functional complaints due to ageing, in a rehab clinic that developed functional recovery and preventive rehab. The purpose of the project was to provide a care of excellence within the Public Health System, turning this clinic into a model of outpatient gerontological care.

LESF professionals with expertise in Gerontology, or Gerontological Rehab, who were already familiar with the operation of the facility, were recruited, to expedite training and adjustment to the service. New therapeutic material was purchased during the program, to improve the quality of the care provided to older persons.
